Virginia Triple Crown Section (58.4 miles)
For this section, we used an Airbnb at 3090 Loch Haven Drive Roanke, VA as a basecamp each night, except for one overnighter with full packs for a 20.1 mile section covering McAfee and Tinker Cliffs. Broccoli Rob from HB Shuttles (540-320-1659) shuttled us to the trailhead the first 3 days. Aunt Pam and Aunt Pat stayed at the Airbnb and made us a home cooked meal each night we got off the trail, which was an enormous treat.
These are the sections we hiked for 7 days on trail:
#71 Rocky Gap, VA 601 gravel (mile 672.2) to VA 630 paved (mile 678.5)

Ya'll are so great for so many reasons. You seem to be really close and love each other and your other family members; you have so much fun on the trail no matter the circumstances/situations/weather; and you share your knowledge of trailheads with us so that we can plan appropriately as we hike the AT! Thank you so much! I am so very blessed to have found you!

Just happened upon your channel. I like it, you're in my neighborhood here. The Roan Highlands and everything from Erwin to Greyson Highlands is where i hike often. I often travel US 421 thru Low Gap, between Mountain City Tn and Bristol, Tn, which is a Bear Sanctuary area. It's a shame so many people leave trash out that attracts Bears to camping areas.

I'm super excited to receive my first equipment from the brand in January, which is a Quilt Flex 15ºF (Wide 6'6")900 Fill Hyper Dry + 8 Oz of extra filling. I also took advantage of Black Friday to buy the Crestone Hood right away, I had a good discount on this and I'm very happy, now I have to wait to see all this in person and do some reviews in photos and videos. Congratulations on showing the video, this was the first one I found most interesting! I've already used a Down Quilt from the Enlightened brand Revelation model and one from Zpacks model Classic, the Zpacks one is wonderful, but its fabric is very fragile and tears very easily when in contact with tree branches and rocks. I think this Pertex Quantum fabric will be more resistant than the others, they all feel wonderful on the skin, but we must also ensure the durability of the product, I hope to be surprised by Katabatic Gear. I have a video showing some models on my channel, but let me know that I'm Brazilian and I don't speak English!

Hello friend, thank you very much for the video, I loved the images, even though I don't understand English, from what you showed you already understood everything you were saying, I want to purchase a Flex 15F 900 Fill model wide size 6'6, however I'm going to add + 8oz of Fill power to make it more padded and warm, I intend to use it on my winter camping trips in the mountains! Will he be really cute? I'm in a cruel doubt between this sleeping bag, which is very versatile, and two other brands, which would be the Zpacks model Around Full zip or Enligthened Equipment Itasca Custom down Comfort 10F. I'm going to wait this week to see if Black Friday arrives to place my order, I live in Brazil, but I have a friend who will bring it to me on a leisure trip in January, take advantage of the opportunity, because if we buy and pay the customs fee I paid for 2 pieces of equipment. Sorry for my English, as I'm using a Google language translator, congratulations on the video and I would really like to see it fully open in the next opportunity, would you be able to send me some photos or videos of it fully open? Grateful. 🤩💞💯

I first visited High Shoals in 1989 (might have been '90). Many years ago, Blue Hole had a large tree trunk lying across the face of the falls. After not having been to it for probably 20 years, I returned in 2017. The tree was gone. The hike out will get your heart pumping. But all these years later, High Shoals remains one of my favorite waterfall hikes. Nice job on the video! P.S.: Thanks for not including "music".
